Les most recently served for over 30 years as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of an 800 plus store service retail chain. In addition to Legal, Les also led Real Estate, Construction, Contracts Administration, Facilities Management and Risk Management Departments, and was responsible for the company’s legal protection and growth. In some years, growth exceeded 100 new units in an array of commercial and retail environments and included multi-unit acquisitions and dispositions through asset and stock purchases. He was a member of the company’s Executive Committee and was integral to strategic business decisions and planning.

Prior to that, he was Real Estate Counsel for a shoe store chain on a team of 3 attorneys during a 4 year period in which the company expanded from 1,200 to 2,500 locations.

He served on the board of directors of the Dulles Corridor Rail Association, the boards of the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association, Virginia Retail Merchants Association and continues serving on the board of the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, Inc. He served on the Executive Committee of Churchill Casualty, Ltd., a member-owned and operated group captive insurance company, including as its President.
